I think an important theme in *The Running Dream* is to never give up on something you want. The reason I say thus is because ever since the accident all Jessica could think about is that she would never be able to run again, Jessica wouldn't even try to get up becusse she thought she would fail. However every single night Jessica had the running dream and couldn't stop having it. Although Jessica never gave up on accomplishing her dream and neither did anyone else. Work was done to earn Jessica her running leg, and there was then hope. Another example of why I think the theme is to never give up on something you want is when Jessica got her fake leg and went to her first track meet to watch, all she could really do was think about her running and watching her race with her "enemy" in it. Jessicabl really wanted to run again, and finally she did. Becuase her and her peers never gave up on something they really wanted.

The character that stands out to me, and who I would like to know is Jessica. The reason I would want to meet Jessica is becumause even though she lost her leg,she is very brave. I feel as though she is brave because connecting back to myself, I would never be able to deal as well as Jessica did. For example, she went back to school earlier than she felt she was ready, and she also showed up at the track meet against her rival school showing her face to the runners. Another reason I would like to meet Jessica is she is extremely thankful and/or caring. For example,when found out that her track team was trying to raise money to buy her running leg, Jessica was supportive and caring because she showed her face at the fundraisers to get more sponsers. For these reasons alone, I would love to meet Jessica from the book "The Running Dream"

My favorite character is Violet from the book series the Body Finder. The reason she is my favorote character is because she went from being very shy about her "special ability" to someone who was very courageous. Violet changed because the killings became very frequent and she knew she needed to do something about it. For example in the beginning of the book violet wouldn't want anything to do with her power. Although she didn't mind her powers she, didn't like to come across dead bodies or animals,as the book started to progress she knew that her ability could help find the murderer and to stop the thrilling. Another example of how she changed throughout the book is how comfortable she was with her power, when the book first began violet was very uncomfortable about how she couldn't control her power, but as the book series were fartherinvolved Violet was shying away from using her power in very dangerous situations. As you can see Violet is my favorite character because she went from someone who was very shy to someone who is now corageuos.

My favorite book is The Body Finder series by Kimberly Derting. I really enjoyed this series because it showed the reader how to face challenges even though you may not know how to overcome these challenges, also Violet was a very courageous character and that made me want to keep reading just by the way Violet acted.

My favorite genre of book is realistic fiction. I like that genre because it could actually happen in real life, but it most likely would not happen to you.

The current book that I am reading is Alphas by Lisa Harrison. This book is about this new school, and the owner has to hand select people to go to the school. All of the students who are accepted to attend that school are all majorly talented and one of the main characters, Skye wants to be the best of the best, and is a very fearless leader. Although when Skye gets to Alpha Academy, she is realizing that she is not the best dancer, Skye has a “to do “ list  to make sure that she will always be the best. That is until she realizes that people can be better than her by the way she dresses and even eats.  Even though there is drama with becoming the best of the best at Alpha Academy, there is also some, other issues going on with one of Skye’s roommate, Charlie. Charlie had to breakup with her boyfriend, who is the “owners” son because Shira (the owner) told her too, now Charlie is very upset and is not sure what to do considering that her ex goes to that school. As you can see Alphas is a book that can show a lot of drama and catch the reader’s attention just by the very small details. For example the way the author just describes the school as very high-tech, rich, and classy can make the reader feel like he/she is actually living in the moment with the drama going on throughout the series. This book is a realistic fiction and the author uses a lot of foreshadowing dropping certain clues to show you what happens next.
